White Water Rafting in West Virginia

Dave and I went on a trip to WV for white water rafting (no kids!!!) with our friends Matt and Heather, Eric and Jenny, and Rick. We camped out, the weather was great, not hot but not too cold. We got to the campsite on Thurs night, then went on a hike Friday morning. The scenery was gorgeous. The pictures of the rapids don't do them justice. On Saturday we went on our trip. It was very intense, some of the rapids were class 3 or 4 which were pretty easy and fun. The class 5 rapids were crazy though! It was fun but wicked scary. Our guide was awesome, he gave us great instructions beforehand and was really good about telling us what to do while in the rapids, row left, row right, stop, all in the boat! No one in our boat fell out-I was sure if any one did it would be me. I highly recommend it for anyone who is up to it!

Isaac and Zoe's birthdays with the Lindquists

Isaac and Zoe had a lot of birthday celebrations. It was a fun year for Zoe-she really got the concept of what her birthday is, she loved opening presents and blowing out candles.
Isaac got a DS which he's been wanting forever! He was so surprised, he loves it!
Isaac had a sleepover with a few of his friends. We did an army theme this year with boot camp, shooting targets with Isaac's air soft gun, tug of war, wounded soldier, and a nerf war. When all was done the boys were exhausted! We had pizza, cupcakes, and presents then they headed downstairs and played couch tag (?) for the rest of the night. In the morning I made pancakes for the boys after which they headed downstairs for couch tag again. I don't know what the game involves but they had so much fun doing it, maybe I should check it out!

Our annual trip downtown. The kids had a blast!

Isaac's karate promotion test

Isaac had his promotion test and is now a green belt with brown stripe. The test was long (at least 2 or 3 hours) and grueling. His teacher wore them out with sit ups and push ups-about 200 each before the test began. Then they had to move on and spar as well as do their forms immediately after the "warm up". They had to show that they have the stamina necessary for that belt level. It wore me out just watching!
He has a tournament this Saturday, I'll let everyone know how it went.
